I am happy to announce that I have been asked to become a full member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA). I have been an associate member for three years now and in that time have taken part in several exhibitions with the society. Drawing is a very important part of my practice and so it is great to be part of an organisation that focuses on that. I’ve been impressed with the standard of work by the other members and feel inspired whenever I see their art.
Drawing is something that has been with me since I was first able to pick up a pencil. It’s something that feels natural and is very enjoyable. I will be running a few drawing workshops over the next few months which will be aimed at all abilities including complete beginners. Learning to draw teaches us to look more closely at the world around us and helps us to see beauty and fascination with even the smallest of things.
SGFA Open 2022
I’m pleased to announce that I have had two drawings selected for the forthcoming Society of Graphic Fine Art Open Exhibition 2022; ‘The Igloo’ and ‘Whiskey 13’. Both pieces depict buildings from RAF Upper Heyford, a disused airbase in Oxfordshire. The show will be held at the Mall Galleries in London from the 17th to the 21st May.
Into the Light
I’ve just completed a small ink pen drawing which will be heading to the Menier Gallery next month and will be part of a charity sale in aid of the Artist General Benevolant Institution. The drawing is called ‘Into the Light’ and is the size of a postcard.
My drawing, ‘Waiting’, will also be heading to The Menier Gallery as part of the Draw 19 Open Exhibition run by the Society of Graphic Fine Art. This is my first time exhibiting with the organisation and i’m really looking forward to seeing the show.
